What is a Soundbar

A soundbar is designed to be installed on a wall under a flat-panel TV. They contain several speakers positioned to bounce audio off walls for an experience similar to a surround-sound system.

Soundbars can be passive or active. Passive speakers require a 3rd party power amplifier source, whereas active speakers have a built-in power supply.

What about electric fireplaces?

Many electric fireplaces feature thermostats and remote controls for easy operation and heat regulation. Electric fireplaces do not require venting and remain cool to the touch.

Will a fireplace damage my TV, artwork or wall finishes?

When the correct fireplace technology is chosen and installed correctly, your wall finishes, artwork and electronics will be safe from heat damage. Vineyard Home will advise you on the best models for your home. Many fireplace models use a gravity-fed technology to direct convective heat away from walls and surface areas above the fireplace.

What is the difference between a direct vent and a ventless fireplace?

Although a modern gas or propane fireplace doesn’t produce smoke or odor, it’s flames do create emissions.

  • A direct vent fireplace Draws its air directly from outside and vents its emissions back out using the same two-part vent pipe, keeping radiant heat in the room and the emissions outside. No Chimney is required.
  • A ventless (unvented or vent-free) fireplace draws its air from inside the home and directs heat and emissions back into the room. Ventless indoor units are tuned to burn extra clean and have a built-in oxygen sensor that automatically shuts the unit off if the room’s oxygen level dips below safe levels. The advantage of a ventless fireplace is that it can be installed anywhere in your home where a vent pipe might not fit.
